Aglfilqj???

Postby EGNX » Fri Aug 25, 2006 12:26 pm

More of a nuesence than a problem, but this little Aglfilqj thingy keeps stopping things like My Documents and the Control Panel opening up properly. I have to press Ctrl, Alt, Delete and 'End Task' it so that My Documents opens. Worst still is when I run Fs, and after about 30 to 40 minutes or so my frame rates hit the floor and i check the Close Programs box and Ccapp (Norton internet security i think) says [Not Responding] about 2 minutes later i check again and i get 'Explorer [Not Responding] and i have to restart.

This happens every time... But i only get Explorer not responding when i run Fs.

Any ideas or cures?

I would say if you check your performace when one of your programs is "not responding" you would see that your CPU is at 100%.

I have no clue as to what that process is, even putting it in Google wont give a link for info (thats not good) and that is usually the first thing I do when I see something I have noticed is google it.
The most obvious thing to try first is a complete antivirus and spyware scan, possibly using more than one brand software.

Then maybe run HiJack this and posting the results at thier forums for a pro to look through.

That Ccapp is a Norton process so that itself is probably hurting your pc.

Msnappau is a MSN toolbar thing. Could be possible the process in question has something to do with it.

Try running some scans for Spyware and viruses.

Adaware or Spybot, wouldn't hurt to try both, they are free and work pretty good, make sure you update them prior to running a scan.
See what they tell you then post back.

Your computer is infected with a virus or spyware. End the process, remove it from the startup list, and delete it. Then do some virus and spyware scans.

Run "MSConfig.exe" (just go to run and type in "msconfig") then click on the "Startup" tab. There you have a list of programs that statup with windows. When you uncheck it the program won't start up. It also tells you where the program is located under "Command" heading so you can just find it and delete it.

I did what you said but AGLFILQJ wasn't there, but I did find some strange files like _zskwrkni04w`\jwvj]wqsxgp]`.EXE. So i disabled them.

But I did find this...

Could it be a hidden file? You can see all hidden files right?

Did you scan for viruses and spyware using the latest definitions?

In Windows Explorer go to Tools>Folder Options>View and select "Show hidden files and folders".

Get ad-aware. Update definitions and do a scan.

You can try a free anti-virus program. I use it instead of Norton.
