Towerguys Baron pit part 7

Postby Towerguy » Thu May 07, 2009 5:55 pm

just an update to say that things are ticking over sloooowly

as can be seen from these images I have put some covering on the shell and have cut out the basic shape of the panel and fitted it roughly in position for sizing etc. the first layer is 4mm mdf

and then a layer glued over it of 3mm white acrylic plastic

Image

not everything goes smoothly all the time either! :-/ lucky it was a scrap piece of plastic just being tried.

time has been a bit of a premium of late so progress is slow
more soon
cheers all

The wood work on those windshield pillars blows my mind. Being a carpenter, I know the amount of time and effort required for that kind of result.

Can't wait to see the end result of this one. :)

thanks guys

one of the hardest things I'm finding is that when I AM out working on it I have to make myself slow down and not try to rush things as there are just so many things to get on with.

I have got more done since these pictures and will have some more posted over the next few days.

cheers all

So is this going to stay in the garage, or do you have a door big enough to get her inside? :D ;)

no - it will be staying in the 'hanger'. I'll tidy up the corner and convert it into a proper room - ultimately (with luck from the lotteries) a projector system as well. ;)

Wow, that fuselage structure looks very sturdy.  Very nice!

Looking good... and I feel for you at this stage, you find yourself bogged down with the structural work. A simpit is really three projects in one: electronic, mechanical... and furniture. ;D
