Looks like you have been doing your homework a bit on pit construction; your comments show a good understanding of what is available to work with. Please keep us posted with info and pictures of your efforts. Sharing of info is key to pit building; we all learn from each other. Called "R+D"..... rip off and duplicate. ;)
Speaking of pictures, SimV has some rules about posting of pictures. One of the most important is that we do not allow linked images from other sites to display directly. Another is that images are limited to 100K maximum fuile size. And they cannot be more than 800 wide. So I have changed the tags on the picture in your post above so that the image is linked, not directly displayed. That covers that one for now. If you'd like, you can upload it to the SimV server and then change it back to being displayed.
It is really kinda' preferred to upload your pics to the SimV server. If you go to the following page it is the upload page, and has all the rules about images. It automatically gives you the image tags to import into a posting too.
