I got a BSOD

Postby a1 » Thu Dec 18, 2008 1:12 pm

IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL

Beginning dump of physical memory

I looked it up on Microsoft and it said it was a bad driver or it did not have permission to access.

This just popped out of no where. I had a couple BSODs before that were relating to my Nvidia card but I have no idea.

What should I do?

Thanks

Its either a driver or faulty memory, or, memory overclocked too high

That one is tough to lock down

If you have been getting Nvidia related errors and are not overclocking or overdriving the memory then I would suspect a driver issue

try a different video driver

I don't get BSODs often.

The Nvidia related one appeared around 3 week ago and there doesn't seem to have any pattern. THis one was a new one to me.

Well my memory is actually not clocked. It is rated at 1.9 volts but it is only stable at 1.85. I can't get it to 1.9. 1.8 volts has been good to me with no problems.

What drivers are you using for your card? If you have the best (not latest necessarily the newest) drivers out there, then download a driver cleaner and uninstall and clean up your drivers and reinstall. If that doesn't work, I heard somewhere that sometimes if you move your RAM to a different slot then it may work better.......I can't confirm that though.

I was getting quite a few of those a while ago, but after I switched my ram out for new sticks, no more BSODS at all, but before you go buying new ram, check to see if there are newer drivers.
