Using Nhancer Help

Postby DomSQ » Wed Feb 06, 2008 6:20 pm

Hey everyone, well recently I've read about Nick's Nhancer thread, and wanted to give it a try to get even better visuals,so I downloaded Nhancer.

So when I open the Nhancer program I click profile at the top and it's got Import,Export,Remove all SLI profiles,Reset all profiles, restore original driver profiles,Exit.

So I chose "Remove All SLI Profile's",I hope this is right?

anyway after I do that,I get a message saying:

"Since nVidia changed the way predefined profiles are handled with Forceware 163.x,it's no longer possible to delete the SLI profiles."

Can someone tell me what's the deal with that,do I have to click "Remove All SLI profiles",or can I just go to MS FS9 and set the profile settings like AA to the required one's,or do I have to remove the SLI profiles like I said first, before I set the profile for FS9?

My Driver version is: 7.15.11.6375,so they're not the latest ones by any means,I plan to update to the new one's soon.but just wanted to test the results with the Nhancer program first.

Specs in my sig, thank you very much for the help.

I would not remove the SLI profiles you need two video cards in order to use the SLI profiles anyway. I did not remove any profiles from my Nhancer but if that is correct or not I am not sure.

Well according to Nick, you needed to delete all of nvidia's default profiles for all the games, and build your own profile for just FS9 or FSX,and set the AA,AF etc,I'm not very good with tech stuff 100%.

How exactly do you have your nhancer settings set for FS9 Gary?

Please review the latest Nhancer instructions in 2 posts here:

http://www.simviation.com/cgi-bin/yabb2 ... 53/165#171

You do not delete them anymore, you create a new profie which disables the original

With FS9 there are reports of AA issues still happening and I do not use FS9 anymore so I can not comment as to why however someone posted to rename the FS9.exe file and create a new profile based on it.

That means to rename FS9.exe in the main fs9 folder, then open Nhancer and assign that exe file to a new profile name, and make the settings i posted

Another possibility is to move the file: nvapps.xml  out of C:\WINDOWS\system32  and do not allow nhancer to resotre the profiles when it boots for the first time, then simply make a new profile for FS9 and set it up as I outlined.

If something gowes wrong, just restore the file you moved back to C:\WINDOWS\system32
