Use the same numbers I gave you on the large list, but the following set to:

CPU Frequency [320]
CPU Multiplier [10x]
Memory Clock Frequency [DDR2 667]
CPU<->NB HT Speed [3xCPU Frequency]
CPU Voltage Range [1.55v-1.65v]
CPU Voltage [1.55v]

Memory:

I just put my birds away and am set to go any time.

Pesky things think they should be out a couple of hours every day. And they are not afraid to let you know if they think you are late with the food or playtime.

I know it, been there

Umbrella Cockatoo, Moluccan Cockatoo and Blue Crown Conure all in the same cage at one time

Almost got a baby Blue and Gold Mac but at that time the ex had enough of me and the birds

What kind of sucks is I see no 1/2 multipliers in the manual and I assume they are not in your BIOS..

A half multipler would be nice to have right now

and other thing that is holding it back is the fact that you are limited on that Vcore and CPU speed.. another notch up and the numbers start working much better.

you may need to settle on a mediocre clock.. but much better than default.

Here is another test set if for some reason the above was simply a no-go

CPU Frequency [246]
CPU Multiplier [13x]
CPU<->NB HT Speed [4xCPU Frequency]
Memory Clock Frequency [DDR2 800]

Tcl [5]
Trcd [5]
Trp [5]
Tras [15]
1T/2T Memory Timing [1T]

Advanced Memory Settings

Trc [22]

Again, same process

I ran the first 2 sets of numbers you gave me to no avail. Got the "Overclock Failure" message. Forced the boot and checked CPUZ. It showed the CPU running at stock speed.

The 5-5-5-12-22 2T worked fine. 3DMark06 also ran ok.

will try the new stuff you just sent

OK so we know what to works with @ 2T now, at least in the initial tests

10x 320 5-5-5-15  22 2T

We may go back to that, enhance it and check the scores to see how they compare to another test run. That was a nice FSB and memory speed.

I would however like to find the 1T barrier. I will post another test set which is lower mem speed in case the one above is still a no-go.

By doing so we can compare the 2T high frequency runs to the 1T low frequency runs. There is a point where running 2T has its advantages. For the most part, running 1T is better for real world performance and also in hitting higher memory scores in benchmarks such as Sandra but if the system will run very high FSB on 2T with lower FAB-4 latency, on the 590 chipset that may very well prove to be better.

Next test, if the one above was a no-go @ 1T

Please remember to verify the drive strength settings are placed back to AUTO before attempting new changes. Only set them to 1.25x as a last resort to test after raising the other timings. If you find stability using the  drive strength settings, let me know because that will influence how I attack the other numbers.

CPU Frequency [229]
CPU Multiplier [14x]
CPU<->NB HT Speed [4xCPU Frequency]
Memory Clock Frequency [DDR2 800]

Trcd [5]

Richard, I have a question

Are those sticks you are using the 1x 2GB XP2-6400 module kit?

The reason I ask is I am seeing conflicting information about the max voltage on those sticks. If it is the XP2-6400 kit, the voltage on those sticks is posted at Mushkin to be 2.2 - 2.25V

Does the box that kit came in specify the voltage range?

Sorry about the delay... I had a registry error and could not boot back in.

I had to reset the bios to default... I could not boot from any of the settings but am not sure if it was the settings or I had the registry error. The recovery error indicated it was my SoundMax that screwed up.

Will wait and see where you want me to start at......

OK, good

the error, how did you fix it and where did you leave off before that happened. Do you recall the settings you were attempting when the problem started?
