Well in FS9 on medium settings, mabe 12, and in FSX mabe 2.

Remember thats with medium settings. And I doubt that your going to be able to turn on any eye candy in FSX.

Your best bet is to get rid of your video card. Its a RAM eater and severly underpowered.

Cheers

actually i had a 6600-128 which died so the fellow at the store sold me the replacement for
$70 and said that it was better than the 6600 and would hold me till i upgrade next summer. i wonder if he was  correct.....with all i've read, i still don't have a clue as to what to aim for next summer ;D

No I can tell you that the 6600 was a better card. I really don't know what that guy was smoking. Aparently something strong.

Buy a 7900GS or if you can find one, a X1950pro. I don't know your BUS thingy which the card fits into, tell us then we'll tell you a good card to buy.

BTW, the 7100 is a SLOOOOOOWWWWWWW card, and will run fsX well at all, and may not even run fs9 well.

yea, the guy who sold it to me admitted that it isn't that good but it would just hold me till i upgrade in a month or two..better than having no card.....he has a 7950-1gz for around $600 cdn. which he said should drop in price in jan 07. anyways, your suggestions would be welcome...i won't be able to afford a cpu for now, but would like to get vista and a card which could be upgraded to dx10..i'm a tech dummy so forgive if i as irrevelent questions....cheers, vic

A DX10 card will run you $400, and Vista Home Premium will run you $260. Start saving ;)

G80's look promasing, then again so do R600's
