Loosing the monitor

Postby Gunny04 » Sun Feb 19, 2006 10:59 am

Like it says, You'll be on the computer typing, playing a game, etc, and the Screen just goes black.... When it goes black everything works in the background yet, but the monitor goes blank......... I think its my graphics card but I am unsure, its really really annoying, and my parents keep telling me its going to blow up... lol (I know it isnt) Well any help would be great.... Cheers, Gunny

First thought would be a loose cable. Check the VGA plug is screwed securely into the back of the GFX card.

If that doesn't work, try a different monitor. Then you can isolate the problem.

not the monitor, It is the color of receiving/Plugged in, I found it too be a driver problem (I Hope) and well, If it holds out it'll work fine Cheers, Gunny
