Flashing pilots hat UI display problem

Postby macstu23 » Sun Nov 23, 2003 8:23 am

I get this strange effect in the UI display. The pilot in the animation has a flashing flying helmet. Its there, then it isnt, then its there, then it isn't, in a quick flashing on/off manner. Its just a little bit annoying. Okay I could turn off UI animations through the Config tool but I think thats maybe a little drastic, I'd prefer to  cure the problem rather than hide it. I've cleanly un-installed and re-installed CFS3 and deleted the CFS3 file in the directory but to no avail. I only noticed this problem not long after installing the latest ATI 3.8 drivers for my graphics card so it may well have something to do with that. Has anyone else had any similar trouble with their helmet or can they perhaps think of a solution short of re-installing my old graphics drivers or turning off animations ? My CFS3 runs fine apart from that. Specs are;
AMD Athlon 2700+ (T-bred) 2.17 ghz processor
1gb Ram
ATI Radeon 9200 128 mb graphics card,
ATI 3.8 graphics drivers

Sorry for replying to my own thread but..no more worries. I fixed it myself. Was the Direct 3-D settings for my graphics card. It must have re-set itself when I installed the new drivers. I've set it to optimal performance and the pilots hat flashes no more, but stays put on his head. Joy.
