What were the Brits doing?

The latest Air Battle game from Microsoft! Running on an entirely new platform, CFS3 is raising it's fair share of problems & opinions - Good & Bad!

What were the Brits doing?

Postby ReillyCambridge » Wed Oct 01, 2003 10:48 am

Okay, so on the first three missions of my latest campaign (flying for the US of A) I took out the sub-bases at Saint Nazaire & Lorient & sank some ships (which were my mission objectives) and in the process knocked out all the invasion defenses in the area, quite a few flak guns, destroyed a convoy & ravaged an air base...

... but the front line did not move an inch in these sectors!

Well lets see what the Brits where doing....

Letting you have your hunk of scrap metal stored in one of our airfields in our country for a start.

Just because you go and knock out sub-bases (which may I add is impossible with any bomb smaller  than 6,000lb (which also just happens to be british)) and shoot a few flak guns won't buy you victory.

And your problem with your wingman with bombs... You have to tell them to attack a ground target and give them time to attack it. :P

Okay, sorry about this one, guys. I wasn't bashing the British.  It was supposed to be a joke.  Pointing out the fact that Microsoft made it so yours was the only squadron that seems to affect the outcome of the war.  It just seemed sorta funny that those Spits wouldn't be flying their own missions, protecting the coast, sinking ships, etc.

No offence taken Reilly. I saw the joke. Take no notice of Woody. He gets a tad worked up sometimes. He's a good chap really, don'cha know old boy. ;D

Ooops. Now I'm for it. I don't belong here anyway. Better go & hide. 8) :P

lol....over sexed, over payed and over 'ere. I was wondering what you chaps were up to when I was trying to save Blighty. i saw you flying around enjoying the view. It seems to go that way whether you play the Limeys or the Yanks. Talking of blowing up U-boat pens however...the reason the U-boat pens at La Rochelle on the west coast of france still stand today, is because they are virtually bomb proof...nothing has been built yet to knock 'em down, so they just left them as they are. The walls are something like 4 metres thick of re-inforced concrete...I imagine a little single engine aircraft would encounter problems trying to crack those walnuts, but thats pc games for you i guess.
