Well, you say that...…….
P8H67-V
8Gb Ram
i7 2600K 1st generation.
GTX 770
FSX Acc as well as FSX-SE. On their own dedicated HDD, and both run OK.
The odd stutter and blurry now and again, but all in all a fairly smooth game play with decent framerates.
All the main ORBX offerings installed as well.
Contemplating upgrade or not, one day I came to realise a very important fact.....
The weak link is actually me: I am not a very good pilot you see.
Rubbish really:
1. I am "number blind". My mind does not register "spoken" numbers. Tell me you phone number, and I am lost by the second digit.
As far as I am concerned, ATC can speak in Martian, its all the same to me.
However, having the ATC
displayed on the screen makes things possible for me.
2. There are many things I don't get the hang of in aviation. Like SIDS and STARS..heh?
Anybody can keep an airplane in the sky.
BUT:
Just when, or at what point, do you "lean" the fuel?
What are the rules for prop control?
Pressed the wrong button...how do I restart this thing in flight again?
How far am I actually from the target airport?
Most time I try to land the airplane from either 5000ft up or through the branches of the trees.
See what I mean? There are many other things as well.
The question to myself is then:
1.Upgrade to P3D 64 bit? Is it justified? I don't think so.
2.Harware upgrades? Not worth my paltry level of skill.
3. I have long since given up on downloading new airplanes. I have some very nice downloads as well as payware planes, but, downloaded or bought, I have not truly mastered a single one of them yet.
4. Been with FSX 8 yrs now---clearly no hope for me.
As for upgrade then, well
I'm just not worth it. Jan
