Be sure to order the infamous "Koryo Burger" on that flight!

From the LA Times:

NORTH KOREA ON A BUN - THE KORYO BURGER

On Air Koryo, North Korea’s state airline, flight attendants are known to serve one thing, and one thing only: a burger as mysterious as the secretive country itself.

The burger is always served cold, and always on a paper doily. Inside the bun is a piece of unidentified meat, a slice of processed cheese, a dash of shredded cabbage or a lonely lettuce leaf, and a dollop of sweet, brown sauce.

The “Koryo Burger” features in countless Instagram feeds and online reviews, not many of them complimentary. It has “gained cult status among passengers,” the British tabloid Daily Mail remarked in 2015. Many wonder: Why a burger, of all things? What’s with the doily? What exactly is that meat?

Thanks for the Burger reply.
I have seen a lot of photos of US airline meals
that look even worse and i ask myself: What is
this "food" made of... So i see nothing different.

I bet the poor wretches in North Korea would love to read the Daily Mail ... or any newspaper they could smuggle into the country without the secret police knowing about it. We may not like what the newspapers print, but I wouldn't want to live in a country without them - like North Korea.

And sort of back on topic, I had the dubious pleasure of flying on a TU-154 from Moscow to Armenia in 1999. The seats were cramped, the Soloviev engines made a unique whistle, and, like almost all the Aeroflot flights I've been on, the food was first class - who would have thought? But true. And the flight was quick at Mach .88, and smooth as glass. TU-154 was fast in the air.
