VC Panel Issue - 777-300 ER Emirates.

Postby brntwrmn » Thu Jul 11, 2019 7:15 pm

Hello,

I downloaded the "FSX/P3D Boeing 777-300 ER Emirates Package P3D4.5 compatible" that was uploaded to the Simviation website on July 10th. I am not sure how to solve the problem with the blank panel screens when the flight is in night mode.

Thank you.

I will look into that. I only tested it in P3D4.
Meanwhile I suggest you download the B777 Reborn package by Zachary77 (in the civil jets page at here @ simviation) and use the panel from that aircraft. It is for FSX specifically

Yes, I used the panel from the Boeing 777-300ER Reborn V2.01, and I still get the same blank panels in the VC in the night mode.

Stupid question incoming: Are the panel lights on?

I prefer a darker cockpit so normally would leave the panel lights off, but that's just not possible on some aircraft. I believe the T7s were one of those that needed the panel lights on.

You need to look at the panel folder for the aircraft and make sure it has entries that look like these
file_1024_night=737-800_panel_background_night.bmp You have to have the .bmp file or no lights.

and this is from the panel cfg file
[LIGHTS]
//Types: 1=beacon, 2=strobe, 3=navigation, 4=cockpit, 5=landing 6=taxi, 7=recognition, 8=wing, 9=logo
light.0 = 1, -35.100, 0.600, 19.100, fx_shockwave_beaconh_l ,
light.1 = 1, -83.500, 0.600, -7.080, fx_shockwave_beacon_rotating_red ,
light.2 = 3, -219.700, -0.250, 12.200, Opensky_nav_yellow ,
light.3 = 3, -219.700, 0.250, 12.200, Opensky_nav_yellow ,
light.4 = 2, -218.900, 0.000, 11.350, fx_strobeh ,
light.5 = 3, 32.500, 0.000, 14.850, fx_shockwave_vclight_l ,
light.6 = 9, -208.500, -4.500, 43.750, Opensky_wing_light , // <-----3 previously
light.7 = 9, -208.500, 4.500, 43.750, Opensky_wing_light , // <-----3 previously
light.8= 5, -79.700, -29.200, -2.000, Opensky_nacelle_refl ,
light.9= 5, -79.700, 29.200, -2.000, Opensky_nacelle_refl ,
light.10= 5, -46.500, -11.700, 0.000, Opensky_nacelle_refl ,
light.11= 5, -46.500, 11.700, 0.000, Opensky_nacelle_refl ,
light.12= 5, -40.500, -13.700, 1.900, Opensky_nacelle_refl ,
light.13= 5, -40.500, 13.700, 1.900, Opensky_nacelle_refl ,
light.14= 5, -14.333, 0.000, -2.000, Opensky_nacelle_refl ,
light.15= 3, -18.300, -6.500, 6.000, Opensky_nacelle_refl ,
light.16= 3, -52.610, -4.500, 6.000, Opensky_nacelle_refl ,
light.17= 3, -144.510, 0.000, -3.000, Opensky_wing_light ,

There is also a difference between daytime scenery and night time scenery
All night time scenery will have a _L at the end of the name
I remember when I created a line shack I had to make both daytime and night time textures.

Hello,

I did try all of the suggestions, and there is no change with the night VC panel. I also just downloaded the FSX/P3D Boeing 777-300ER Air Canada Package and the night VC panel also had the same issues. I am not sure what else to do at this point.

There is only thing else that could cause this problem and that is you are missing the actual light itself .
You should find these lights inside your Main FSX EFFECTS folder you should see an entry that looks like this fx_vclight followed by several other entries with the same name like fx_vclightwhi
if you are missing these entries you would not have any lights. 8-)

I just downloaded the 777 to check this out. Apparently it's a common problem which is easily fixed. Gary is on the right track.
The vclight effects files are included in the download but the corresponding entries under the [lights] header in Aircraft.cfg have been remarked out for some reason.
Remove the remarks & Hey Presto!

Thank you. I made the changes that you suggested, and now I have night lighting in the VC.

Thank you Hagar. I will create a fix and also include in future uploads.
Worth mentioning in this thread too https://forums.simviation.com/phpBB3/vi ... 3#p1310933
