fsx not working on w10 64bit

Postby nichos » Wed May 22, 2019 11:00 am

F SX used to work when I upgraded from win8 to w10 but after having to reinstall fsx it is not accepted.

Is there any way to get FSX back again?

I have recently had to install FSX on win10. other than it jumping install had no issues. Is it possible the disc is damaged or files became corrupted? Did you try to repair the installation?

FSX in a pain when it comes down to reinstalling it because of the licensing issue

You night have to run this utility http://www.flight1.com/view.asp?page=library
I had the FSX GOLD version and for love of money could not get Accelaration to register
The problem was with the registery
I also had to down load and run the licensing reset tool first
https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/hel ... imulator-x
I https://forums.simviation.com/phpBB3/po ... &p=1310510
I have since completely removed FSX GOLD and now use FSX STEAM it is basically the same thing but now you no longer need any discs or have to jump through all kinds of hoops to get FSX to run
And you can uninstall and reinstall without all of the hassles. <<r

I found when I last reinstalled FSX in W10, Disc 1 when the setup was clicked, it would sit and sit with no apparent activity for upwards of 10 - 12 minutes before the install would actually start. This was with a MS tech guy on the other end of the phone. He was quite unphased by the delay so I guess that it was something MS were aware of. Best bet is to wait for a Steam sale and get FSXSE as the man above said. It has all the relevant fixes for the original FSX. I got mine ages ago for about $5.00

I found this link https://store.steampowered.com/app/3141 ... m_Edition/

not a bad deal for only $ 25.00
trust me this is the way to go you get a bug free FSX without having to go through registering it no keys no license and no Discs
And if you should have to reinstall all you have to do is log on to steam and redownload it. It does not get any easier than that
the best feature is if FSX does have issues all you have to do is to verify your files if problems are found they will be fixed
I was one of the original Beta testers and FX steam is the best thing that ever happened. <<v

Agreed that it is the way to go, but wait for a sale, they are frequent. Full price for essentially a 13/14 year old program is which is frankly on its way out is lunacy. For not much more get P3D4 or if your PC is not up to it get P3D3 which is readily available for $59.95. https://www.prepar3d.com/product-overvi ... omparison/
