No bank angle warning?

Postby DaveHagen » Sun Apr 14, 2019 4:58 am

Hello, I downloaded a realistic sound mod for my default 737-800, but the uploader didn't add the bank angle warning, and the autopilot disconnect was not really realistic, but since I had the PMDG which didn't work so i transferred the AP disconnect and the Bank Angle warning to the default 737-800, the AP disconnects works, but can't hear the Bank Angle, I looked in the panel.cfg, wasn't there and added it, but still not working. I've done various bank angles to see when it triggers (even flipped the plane over) but no Bank Angle warning sound. Am I doing something wrong?

Thanks in advantage

Are you sure you moved the sound file the gauge needs?
as I stated earlier any sound file can be checked by merely double clicking on it.
It does no good to move the gauge if you do not move the required sound it uses.

I don't understand you, the only thing I did was adding it to the sound folder of the aircraft, and only the AP disconnect seems to work properly

Hi
Can you tell us what file you have downloaded? & you're trying to add it to the PMDG 737 right? I don't have that so can't test but 1st step is to have a look at the mod you are asking about.

A PMDG 737-800, where is the bankangle sound is (where “bank angle” is called out once), but the PMDG didn’t work so I started adding some sounds to the default 737-800, because there was no bankangle warning, and it was a sound mod so the 737-800 would sound like realistic, and it wasn’t realistic enough for me, so I wanted it to be more realistic, thus I did also add the AP disconnect sound, it was already there so I could just simply rename it, but that works correctly, but the bankangle not, tried different names, it is now 737_800_warn_bankangle, I did also add it to the sound.cfg

I mean what mod did you download. I can't help with the PMDG but could look at the sound mod you downloaded.

Hi,

I'm surprised the pmdg doesn't have it, I use the Ifly 737's and it works fine also with the preset bank angle limit on the mcp.

regards

Steve
May the Mynd be with you.
So far my number of landings either passenger or pilot equal my number of takeoffs.

Hi,

Ok, my comment was because but you said the pmdg didn't work.

It maybe something that is part of the model so maybe not present in all aircraft, needs somebody that creates aircraft to know what actually triggers the bank angle warning.
And until I work on simulators it's something I don't know on the software side

Steve

Sorry about that
I found this in a payware B737

max_bank=30,25,20,15,10
max_bank_acceleration=1.8
max_bank_velocity=3.00
This is in the Aircraft.cfg file in the Autopilot section
This could be what triggers it.
but I am not sure it might be part of the model file I have not been able to find anything so far as to what triggers this warning.
I also discovered that the bank angel warning is part of the Ground Proximity warning system in this aircraft
I found this video that might help
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R-4Q8mhpFLU
This aircraft is very similar to what I have THE PMDG 737-800 NGX & PMDG 737-900 NGX
it has the exact same system and the panel appears to be identical to my panel

It says also in my default 737-800 aircraft.cfg. And the video is about a iFly 737-800, I only have the default one where the bank angle warning doesn't sound

Here are the screenshots:

Image the sound file
Image in my sound.cfg, and it is the Boeing 737NG (700/800/900) sound package for FSX by FL2070 who didn't add the bankangle warning, so I added it FROM my PMDG because it didn't work, so before I uninstalled my PMDG I added the sound (the WhoopWhoopPullUp is from the FSX sound folder, so a default one, but that doesn't also work), The stall warning and AP disengage is also added by me from PMDG but that does sound perfectly how I wanted it to be. I hope it is clear now
