HOW DO YOU MAKE A CLEAN REINSTALL

Postby SLAMMAN » Sun Aug 12, 2018 4:52 pm

I had to remove it the hard way by dragging a few items at a time to
the trash can then dumping but when I go to remove it says specified
account already exists and the green bar go almost to the end and then
goes back. And you can't remove it. I have the same problem with FS9
you can't remove it from the add& remove! my scenery I move it to a
thumb drive along with my aircraft. & then & reinstall. But it ain't clean!!!

I think with the Steam edition you have to uninstall via their interface under Library/ Games then right click on FSXSE and at the bottom is an uninstall option. TYhen I would run a defrag on the HD the thing was install upon, reboot, then go back to Steam and reinstall.

Try just deleting FSX & FS9, then use a registry cleaner such as Glarys Utility or CCleaner to clean the registry.
Worked for me on Windows 10, 8.1 & 7, without any issues.

If this is the boxed version of FSX all you have to do is to insert disk 1 and when it opens select the uninstall option
You should also find an uninstall inside of the main FSX folder towards the bottom

Doing it the way you did will more than likely cause problems because there are still registry entries.

You can also download a program called Revo Uninstaller link is below
