I liked the natives and they certainly looked friendly.

An Aircraft Mechanic only needs two tools, Duct Tape and WD40.
If it moves and it's not supposed to - use the Duct Tape.
If it doesn't move and it's supposed to - use the WD40.

A much recorded tune:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Apache_(instrumental)

Let's give credit to the right artists:

The original artists, The Shadows:

In 1961, Danish jazz guitarist Jørgen Ingmann's cover of "Apache" went to #2 in the US and #2 in Canada:

Other stuff from Wikipedia:

In 1977, The Tommy Seebach Band recorded a disco-styled version and filmed an accompanying music video of "Apache." Set on a rocky hillside, it featured scantily clad dancers around a grinning Tommy Seebach while he plays keyboards. This version was successful in Europe.

And this oddity:

Black Sabbath with Tony Martin on vocals played a live cover of the song at their 1989 concert in Moscow.

It's all over the map.

My personal take as a musician: Ingmann's version, nice and solid and well recorded with a very tasteful use of an echo chamber effect.

Tommy SeeBach: Politically and musically incorrect.

Rarely seen anything that corny in my life if it's meant to be serious ......... If I was guessing I would think it was part of a comedy sketch show ..... 6 seconds was more than enough

When we first watched it both Sue and I couldn't stop laughing such were some of the cheesy videos around at that era. I'm also a "very amateur" guitarist and as you can tell from the user name, a big fan of the Shads and the Fender Strat indeed 50's and 60's instrumental music in general. There were some great bands around then for instance https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m429iA5KS1E (Superb use of the DeArmond 610 volume and tone pedal, I have the Fender version but it's not as good) truly a great time for music. Jan thanks for the video link, she's very good nice to see the youngsters playing real instruments.

Cheers
Rich

P.S. I do quite like the Incredible Bongo Band version, there was also a chilled out version I heard a long time ago, for the life of me I can't remember who did it, I heard it on one of the Shadows fan sites.

What is truly amazing is that which was parody 50 plus years ago would not be tolerated today, in the spirit of "Correctness". I love the music even if the video itself was a tad on the offensive side.

Now that brought back a few memories, good times.   I very often spend a couple of hours on You Tube listening to some of the older music and always come across some little gems. Like this band https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F3qhBHGnmw0 one for all the Bond fans, well worth the time listening to their other videos, very very good indeed.
