Thanks Rich.Two very interesting videos.
Those were the days.

That Australian race became a a real bore
later on.

I recall seeing Paddy Hopkirk in the circuit
of Ireland,a long time ago.I remember them
screaming through the Sally Gap in Co.Wicklow.
Very scary!

Regards Anthin... :o

Cheers Anthin, as I find them I'll post them here. Agree that Bathurst has got a bit tame of late, so has some other branches of the sport. Big money sponsorship I think has got to be a factor. My favourite Bathurst race which I think was the first one televised in the UK had the be the 1986 one where Jaguar and the the late Tom Walkinshaw's TWR bagged 1st and 3rd, great stuff.

Cheers

That was interesting Rich.Everything
looks so dirty and scruffy compared
to now.

How cars have changed. The mini was
sure involved in racing back then.

Regards.

Anthin.

Cheers Anthin, yea the Mini was a very special car much better than today BMW offering.

Here's another one that I think I posted elsewhere on the forum, a lap of Le Mans with Britain's first World Champion Mike Hawthorn. The cameras really show how technology has improved over the years.

Very interesting Rich.Scary seeing cars and bikes on the track.

Those old racing Jags sure looked great.Better than the modern
looking horrors.

Here's a video that really takes me back to my youth, we went to many events like this as we had a friend who competed in an Autocross Special. I can still remember the smell of Oil, Grass and Petrol, Seeing Janspeed Minis, the odd Lotus 7 and a lot of different Fords very happy days indeed.
