Our group welcomes players from around the world to join us in either our Virtual Airline or Military Operations. We are very friendly and urge newcomers as well as seasoned flight simmers and real pilots to join us! We encourage learning and engagement!

We no longer use the default FSX multiplayer. We switched our multiplayer to a new client called joinFS. It's stability is significantly better than the standard FSX multiplayer, and you have many more options to give you greater control over your multiplayer experience.

We will be having a Military Ops event this Friday, March 3, at 2100 hours CST.

Scenario...

Joint military cold weather training missions are taking place at Cold Bay, Alaska, this weekend.

The US Coast Guard requested transportation of 200 troops, their equipment, and 3 humvees from PAED Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson Air Force Base, Alaska, to PACD Cold Bay, Alaska.

Assets...

2 x C-17 Globemaster III aircraft loaded with 100 troops and equipment totalling 40000lbs of cargo.

1 x C-130 aircraft loaded with 3 humvees totalling 24000lbs of cargo

2 x F-16 aircraft armed and equipped with external fuel tanks

Pilots not assigned to aircraft are welcome to fly along, so long as they respect the mission and do not interfere negatively.

There will be no enemy aircraft in the area during this mission.

Please respond in the chat with the aircraft you would like to fly. If you do not show up within 5 min after the event has started, another play may take your place.

Other...

You will need the latest beta version of the joinFS client to participate.

Pilots not assigned to aircraft are welcome to fly along, so long as they respect the mission and do not interfere negatively.

We may alter the scenario and assets ahead of time to accommodate more pilots that want to participate.

There will be no enemy aircraft in the area during this mission.

Please respond in the comments if you would like to join.

Do not bother joining the event if you are over 5 minutes late from the time it starts.

I will be flying the C-17 Globemaster III for this event.

The aircraft our group recommends (not required) for this event are...

Virtavia C-17 Globemaster III

Debrief...

Although only one C17, flown by JackRiordan, and one F16, flown by DeepSchit, made the trip to Cold Bay, the mission was not a complete success.

After Action Review...

- C17 had fuel selector lever issues which delayed the mission. Ensure systems are hotkeyed correctly prior to departure.
- F16 model did not show correctly and had to be substituted by AI aircraft. Ensure to add the DLC model folder so it can be scanned by joinFS.
- Player turnout was low. Continue to communicate with other players to encourage participation.
