AI DC-3 Dakota Traffic Problem in FS2004 Query

Postby eddywinch82 » Thu Aug 18, 2016 9:58 am

Hi there,

I have added two DC-3 Dakota's as AI Traffic from Liverpool Airport, using the program "Simple AI" and "TTools".
I created a flight for the KLM Dakota I have in FS2004, going to Amsterdam. However when I use Traffic View Board, It says the Aircraft is going to Dublin for some strange reason ? I believe I have the correct Airport coordinates and IATA code i.e. EHAM whereas Dublin Airports is EIDW, here is the text, I got the TTools program to compile the Traffic File i.e. .BGL from the Following 3 Files :-

Airports Text File :- EHAM being Amsterdam or am I wrong ?

The 2 DC-3 Dakota AI Aircraft have the correct color scheme and writing on them after compiling.

And Here is the Flightplans Text File Info :- I chose EGGP i.e. Liverpool as the start Destination, which shows correctly in Traffic View Board.

AC#9,G-KLM,99%,24Hr,VFR,12:00:00,14:36:15,020,R,1,EHAM,17:00:00,19:36:15,020,R,2,EGGP

Could someone on this forum please help me and tell me, why the Destination for the KLM Dakota is showing as Dublin, when I have chosen EHAM Amsterdam ?
And if there is something wrong with the Info from the text files above, could someone please tell me where I have gone wrong, and what I need to change to have the KLM DC-3 Dakota going to Amsterdam instead of Dublin. The Other DC-3's destination is the Isle of Man (Ronaldsway), which shows correctly in Traffic View Board. Any help and info someone could give me would be much appreciated. Best Regards Eddie Winch ^-^

I ran Traffic View Board again, and I am now getting the correct DC-3 Dakota KLM Flight, from Liverpool Airport to Amsterdam (Schipol) Airport. And also the other Dakota Flight from Liverpool Airport to the Isle Of Man (Ronaldsway). I am however getting another DC-3 flight which I didn't compile, to Dublin Airport IATA Code EIDW. I really don't understand where the the Dublin DC-3 Dakota Flight came from !? Can someone please explain to me how I have it, and also how to get rid of it ? Any help someone could give me would make my day )) Here is what I am seeing in Traffic View Board :- Image

Hi,

If you have not removed the default AI traffic file the default DC-3 flies many flights around the world; it could be one of those. TVB says it's VFR, which suggests that is the case.

I found out that in Traffic Toolbox you can delete Flights, from the Explorer menu. I deleted a duplicate Kestrel DC-3 Dakota flight, from Liverpool to the Isle of Man that had been created somehow, not by me. And when I exited FS2004 and went back into the game, the Flight I deleted from the Explorer menu in Traffic Toolbox was still not there. So I presume that isn't just a delete from the menu. But a total delete of the Flight File ? tgibson the default FS2004 Traffic File, couldn't have been causing the problem, as I have the Payware Ultimate Traffic for FS2002/FS2004, and it Changes the file extension of that file to .UTB from .BGL so the Default Traffic doesn't clash with the Traffic from Ultimate Traffic.

Hi there,

The other day I downloaded, and have been using the Simple AI Program by Garrett Hardesty, but I need some help. If someone is willing to help me ? I will email you the .BGL file which I have, which can be decompiled using the Program "TTools", I keep getting duplicate Flights and one different AI Aircraft flight destination, Dublin Airport (EIDW) that I have not created myself. The Aircraft I am using is the Default FS2004 DC-3 Dakota in "Kestrel" and "KLM" liveries. If you have time, could you look at the .BGL File If I email it to you ? And get back to me, about what I need to change and what text I should put in it's place. To ensure I only have one flight a day there and back. From Liverpool to Ronaldsway Airport (Isle Of Man) with the "Kestrel" Liveried DC-3 Dakota, and only one flight a day there and back from Liverpool to Schipol Airport (Amsterdam), with the "KLM" liveried DC-3 Dakota. I would really appreciate it if someone could help me, and would it be okay if you message me your email address ? So I can send the .BGL file to you ? I will also email you two pictures, of what I am seeing in the Utilities programs in FS2004, "Traffic View Board" and "Traffic Toolbox" Best Wishes and Regards From Eddie Winch

Hi,

Sorry, I've never used that program and thus can't help. What I would do is decompile the file with TTools, delete the Dublin flight, and then recompile.

The Dublin Flight, is not part of the .BGL file that's the weird thing. But many thanks for the suggestion I will still try that.

If it's not one of those, then it's obviously in a different BGL file. You'll need to find that one.

Thanks for your reply tgibson, I will have a thorough check of the .BGL files tommorow in FS2004. I think your right, the flights must be in another .BGL file many thanks for your help it's much appreciated. ))
