DH 104 Dove

Postby BlueSkies » Wed Feb 24, 2016 11:48 am

When I'm flying around the western isles of Scotland this is my aircraft of choice, the DH 104 Dove.
Just love this livery as well.

There is something "homely" and yet alluring about the D.H. Dove. Its got the two big DeHavilland "Gypsy Queen" engines which were a real workhorse in their day. I also used to fly the D.H. Heron with its 4 Gypsy Queens. That is another nice airplane. Some of the FSX Herons have the 4 horizontally-opposed conventional engine refit.
Your scenery is stunning, please tell us a bit about that too.

Many thanks for all your kind comments everyone.
The airport scenery that some of you asked about is UK2000 Edinburgh Xtreme.

If anyone is interested, the link is below.

The DH 104 is a 'plane dear to my heart. I was posted to a communications flight back in '65 that used ex-queen's flight Doves for flying AOC's around the country. Sadly, I never got to fly as I got my ATC training soon after. I have had the Dove in my hangar since FS9 and found it worked well in FSX too.

Very nice shots !
This is the aircraft that was released just a few months ago, right ?
Isn't there a small display problem with the props ? They seem to be masked by the aircraft fuselage ?

Hey Mr Blues Skies,

Is this JF DH104 Dove repaint available for download from somewhere?
Or could you send it?
I like flying Scotland too!
