The Super Bowl

Postby Webb » Tue Feb 02, 2016 7:49 pm

Who: Denver Broncos (Peyton Manning) v Carolina Panthers (Cam Newton)
Spread: Carolina by about 5
Where: San Francisco, California
When: February 7, 6:30pm Eastern
TV: CBS, Will be televised in Europe around 12:30am February 8

Pregame: Don't waste your time. Watch the Phoenix Open instead.

Menu: Ultimate Pigs in Blankets, Beer

Ultimate PIB has 2 ingredients - 1 package (1 lb?) Hillshire Farms Hot Smoked Sausage and flaky biscuits. The hot sausage has jalepeno pepper in it.

Cut the sausage into 8 pieces and heat them in the microwave. Wrap each piece in a biscuit and cook according to package directions. I like mine with mustard.

I can't watch the game at my favorite pub because they won't let me watch the end of the Phoenix Open and they don't even have HDTV.

Jim,

Better to enjoy the big Game in comfortable surroundings (home), with all of your favorite Snacks and Libations close at hand. No unruly peeps to maneuver through, nothing 'accidentally' spilled on you, etc.

With fingers and toes crossed, I HOPE the Broncos win!

If you stay home Helen Mirren won't curse at you (actual Super Bowl commercial).

Well, this is a predicament. Five minutes before kickoff and the Phoenix Open is in a playoff.

Rickie Fowler -14
Hideki Matsuyama -14

I might have to miss Lady Gaga!

Edit: Moving on to the fourth playoff hole.

I have to say...Gaga nailed the National Anthem. That is rare for a celebrity to do such a good job, but she didn't over do it, she didn't wear next to nothing in the wardrobe, and her voice was beautiful. Now if a football game would start at some point we'd be in good shape. That half time show was LAAAAAAAME!!!!!!    :snooty: :snooty: :snooty:

Matsuyama won it on the fourth playoff hole but I watched the stream on cbssports.com

I caught Lady Gaga on YouTube and I agree. She was impressive.

For halftime I watched a rerun of New Girl.

The game itself is pretty good, except for the endless commercials. 3rd quarter - Carolina 7, underdog Denver 16.

Congrats to the fans of Denver! Being a Vikings fan I don't think I will ever get to actually enjoy a Super Bowl  So for the time being I will forever be a critic of half time shows until they get Slayer and Iron Maiden, and hoping that both teams lose.

I really like Peyton Manning but I haven't gotten to see much of his pro career. I remember his college career, though.

1994 *
Florida 31
Tennessee 0

1995
Tennessee 37
Florida 62

1996
Florida 35
Tennessee 29

1997
Tennessee 20
Florida 33

* Manning did not play in this game but he lost his first game at Mississippi State 24-21

1 million fans, 1 arrest, gotta love Denver and great people enjoying beautiful weather and restraint. Do that in New York, Los Angeles, Detroit, etc. Love Colorado and the fans here. Next year we will try to do it again. Go Broncos.
