A lovely slice of British history.

Strangely it still make sense to me. 8-)

A fascinating world, not only long gone, but not even known to have existed by most people 30 and under.

It might as well be from some unknown and unrecorded world.

I do remember riding such busses when I was seven and eight. They seemed so huge to me then!

I was just thinking of Weston-super-Mare last night. Pouring over books and pictures.

Trying to find where we lived on the Google maps.

So much has changed. The old church near the railroad station. All gone.

If it weren't for the Railroad tracks and the Grand Pier, I wouldn't have a clue.

At best guess, it was somewhere near the middle, or in the upper part of the ellipse.

The field to the right of the curving tracks near the rugby club, hosted a fair in my time. At least as well as I can recall.

For a few years at least, I was an English school boy.

Another World....

Another Time...

...and another Place!

Beautiful old Buses!

A wonderful bit of nostalgia for me in my home City of London!

"Hold on very tight, please!"

"Plenty of room on top!"

Thanks for the reminder, Shadow!

Sad but we now live in a throw away age  Gone are the days of taking in your T.V. or radio or other appliances in to the local repair shop for service. And god forbid something goes wrong with your car as the usual bill for service will well be over the $1,000 mark for some electronic malfunctions. Hells bells even a simple oil change is $60 now. I worked for a short time when I was 16 rebuilding engines at a small repair shop and we were always busy but it closed down for lack of business in the early 80's.

Keep smiling

London Buses apart, I have a collection of 1/176 buses. They are just ones that I remember from my home town. The earliest is 1 1932 AEC. Then Old Airmail's photo of WSM sent me back to my RAF days. I had a Messerschmidt Kr200 3 wheeler when I lived there. I tried spotting the place where my 3" brakes failed to stop me and I ended up against the rear axle of a flatbed Bedford. Or the place between the 2 bridges on the Locking road where I ran out of petrol and caused a traffic jam to beat all traffic jams. PC Barnstable wasn't amused.

That was a very interesting video, thanks for posting it.

Progress isn't necessarily an advancement of civilization.

An Aircraft Mechanic only needs two tools, Duct Tape and WD40.
If it moves and it's not supposed to - use the Duct Tape.
If it doesn't move and it's supposed to - use the WD40.

...You bet!..... ...!

I love my memories in the...
1930's In London (The whole World was in black-and-white, "Snow White" in colour was just getting invented).
1940's Escaping to the countryside of Herefordshire, from the Blitz of London, Lots of Cows and Sheep...Pigs and smells.
1950's Leaving school (Woo-hoo!), starting work (an awful word!), passing my Motor-bike test (much joy), joining the British Army (forcefully), getting married (a constant reminder). Breeding.
1960's Being a "Ton-up Boy" on my various British bikes. Family rides with my Motorcycle Sidecar-outfits.
1970's Getting divorced. Dance Halls, "The Sweet", long hair, flared trousers, pink shirts, (everything far too tight), platform boots, big belts, getting my end away (FAIL!).
1980's Personal Computers (Sinclair Spectrum 48k/Commodore 64). and BASIC and Machine Code bedroom programming with my Mates.
1990's Mostly boring. Amiga Computers, and the early PC's. Fast Japanese Super-bikes.
2000's On my Motor-bikes, cooking amazing meals, wine tasting, playing computer games, mowing the grass,....taking my medicine, and waiting for God...

Lots of stuff to remember...(and forget..intentionally!).... ;) ...!

I love it!.... ...!

Paul.... ...!
