Ultralight request?

What aircraft have you been unable to find after a long search? There may be an answer!

Ultralight request?

Postby DarkCandle » Tue Jun 02, 2015 2:01 am

Hi everyone, I figured this would be the best place to ask; is there someone who can create an ultralight aircraft for FS2004, or possibly FSX? The one in question is the Fisher FP-606. Particularly the nose gear version, although I've included the tail gear pic too.

I was hoping there might be someone here who can help me, I also hope this doesn't come across as needy. I am leaning more towards FS2004 but if there is someone who could do it for either/or I would greatly appreciate it. I don't know how any of this modelling stuff works!

For anyone willing to try, I would be very interested to hear your thoughts on the matter! I hope I am not too out of line in asking.

I'm no designer, but there is a roughly similar ultralight in development here that might interest you! See link above---

I actually saw that, it looks pretty cool! I don't really have any sort of experience with 3D modeling either. I tried at one point but it never really clicked with me. I'm more of a flier!

Welcome to SimViation, DarkCandle.

OneWhoKnocks53 points to one solution, but that brings up an important point or two.

Disregard that it isn't your plane.

Take into consideration the fact that it does require considerable skill.

Most people with that talent will spend time on projects that interests them.

Of the remainder, there're good people like tomvaillencourt with the skill and willingness to devote a significant amount of their time to creating an aircraft for someone else.

And when I say time, I mean TIME.

The request that tomvaillencourt took up started on Wed Jun 25, 2014. Toms last post, so far, is May 17, 2015

As you can see, even a simple request can take a considerable amount of time.

On the other hand, I do have two substitutions if you can live with similar aircraft.

Both of these are great little airplanes, but I fly the Corben Baby Ace more often than the C152.

Another popular aircraft is the Cessna 152. <- Click link

They're free, so download and fly both.

There are plenty of small, light weight aircraft on SimViation. But these two may work out for you.

Another slow & low aircraft that I like is the Piper Cub.

I have the 152! It's very fun to fly, I enjoy it a lot.
I'm not asking for something to be done overnight, simply hoping there is someone who might be interested in taking up the challenge. I am a patient man! Time is not a factor for me.

Well then, good luck.

So long as you understand that it may take more than a little time, I'm sure you'll find someone to make it for you.

BTW - is there any story behind your request for that specific aircraft?

Again time is not a factor!

As for why this plane specifically, I saw one when I was younger and grew pretty attached to it, I wanted one ever since, but life and money don't always provide for such things. So I guess you could say childhood nostalgia!

That is something that I can easily understand.

One summer in high school I worked in a small airport.

My favorite airplane at the airport was a Beechcraft V35 Bonanza.

And now I have my very own.

Hi DarkCandle!

I am the 3D designer that is make the ultralight for "Desperate Aircraft Request" by Tomvaillencourt. I should be finished with this aircraft in a month or two. If you can find 2D blueprints with a front view, side view, and top view of the aircraft I will think about modeling the aircraft.

I am not making any promises that I will make the model. Because I have several projects at this time. If I do decide to make the aircraft there will not be a pilot. I do not model pilots, I also do not like animating pilots.

Thanks, Kris ^-^

If you don't animate pilots, I'll be eternally thankful. :D

I've been following your project with Tomvaillencourt's flyer. Good show.

Although I don't have the strong desire of DarkCandle, I too would find this one of some interest.

It does have a simplistic charm about it.

Hi OldAirmail!

Thanks, for the kind words. Yes, the ultralight that Mr. Tom requested is turning out nicely. I am hoping to have a beta release of the aircraft in a month or so. Tom has made some really nice paint jobs for the aircraft.

Thanks, Kris ^-^

It's good to have you here, Kris.

I think that everyone is learning something from your work.

Hi Krispy! Sorry for the late reply, I've had a crazy week.
I've been looking into getting a set of plans from the company since one day I hope to build a 606 of my own; I'm going to try and get in contact with someone from the company about a simple 3-view drawing for you though! Also it will not be a problem if there is no pilot. Best of luck to you with your other projects though, the one I've seen is looking awesome!
