Sundays treat...

Postby Fozzer » Sun Apr 06, 2014 6:25 am

I was looking forward to a nice run-out on my Motor Bike today, to meet up with fellow Bikers for a cup of tea/coffee and a bacon sandwich in a Café....
..but the weather has turned out pretty naff, overcast sky, with showers and strong winds....(and I hate getting my bike wet!)....

So as not to spoil the day, I stayed at home and prepared and cooked this FAB tasty dinner for myself instead.... :D ...!

Image

Lincolnshire Sausage Rolls (x2).
Boiled potatoes.
Carrots.
Leeks.
Cabbage.
Brussels Sprouts.
Spinach.
Mixed Peppers.

A Very Special Onion Gravy.

All served on a HOT plate, and washed down with a nice cold glass of Carling Black Label!

Maybe tomorrow the weather may be little better, and I can go for another ride!?

...but the Dins was very nice!.... ...!

Paul....with a very happy tummy!.... :D ...!

You can lose the spinach. As for virgin Olive oil, I never cook with anything that ugly.

I have always been confused about the various 'meal times' around the World; for example, I eat 'breakfast' around 08:00, 'lunch' around 13:00, and 'dinner' around 18:00. I do partake in a cup of 'tea' around 16:00 or so, and have a late evening 'Scooby Snack' around 22:00. :P

Would Paul's repast for 'Tea' be equal to a mid afternoon Lunch, or an early Dinner? And where does Supper fit into the equation; is it another meal entirely after Dinner??

Nonetheless... I would eat what Paul prepared anytime!

Hello Alan... :D ...!

I live in the past as regards meal-times learned from my Parents times....

Breakfast first thing in the morning after getting up, around 7-8AM. Cereals or a full cooked breakfast.
Lunch break..mostly for folks who are working...10AM in the morning. Cheese sandwich and a flask/cup of tea/coffee.
Dinner, mid-day between 1PM and 2 PM...full dinner with meat, veg, and gravy.
Tea, 5PM....Cup of tea, sandwiches, and cake.
Supper, any time just before bed...whatever you/I fancy, to satisfy the tummy for the night!

That is still my daily meal schedule. 4-5 meals per day, with things that I know are good for me!

Its what we old Englanders are used to.... :D ...!

Paul.... ...!

Note: Even when I was at work years ago I would still pop home from 1-2PM for a proper cooked dinner.

Thank you for that clarification, Paul!

Back in the days when I was riding my bike everywhere, I could put away the vittles and keep the weight off 'cause I was riding so much.

Not anymore! :o

Hello Alan...

Even though I appear to stuff my face at every opportunity, I do make sure that I eat things that I know are good for me, and also prepare and cook them to retain their goodness, and avoid the use and consumption of fats, salts, and sugars wherever possible!
(Virgin Olive Oil in my frying means no deadly cooking fat/oil!....and Virgin Olive Oil is very good for you!).

Even with very little exercise (Motor Bikes & Flight Sims), with my height (5ft 7"), and weight (154 Lbs), my body mass index is normal at (24.5).... :D ...>>>

So.... all is well in the body department....according to the Chinese Magic Genie Tea Lady... ...!
