Hi Mate,

OK - there are several ways to use aircraft models in Flight Sim, Flyable Models, Artificial Intellengence flying models and Static models.

(a) Flyable models are ones that have the full aircraft - the works - aircraft/panels/ (some with VC - some not) depending on what the model creator chooses to develop.

(b) Artificial Intellence models (AI) - Used for flight sim traffic - stripped down to the bare minimum to reduce frame rate impact within the sim - basically a flying skin for the aircraft.

(c) Static Models - models that have been converted to a scenery object for static placement within scenery.

The Ford Project Team mostly supply the flying model with their aircraft texture packs - however, that is only where we have permission from the aircraft model developer to do such. Microsoft unfortunately does not give generic permission for publishing their aircraft included in packages.

Some simmers bundle them into their packages despite the Microsoft outlook - but the Ford Project Site honours as best as possible the developers rights and therefore do not include aircraft models if consent is not available.

Regards and happy simming

If we all would honor as best as possible the rights of others, there would be no need for Wars nor Divorces!!

  Now, my ignorance has a question for you: I have found TWO color combos for the same livery. I wonder if it was a 30's style with diferent color combos, or if someone has interpreted wrong the B&W photos of that era (I like the one in beige with black trim):

The FS 2004 Bf-108:

Another Bf-108 with same livery in different colors:

A modern photo of that restored aircraft:

I like the liveries you have made for the Bf-108 in FS 2004, have them among my favorite aircraft! <<q <<q <<q

Hi Mate,

One of the hardest things to do is to guess the colours from old black and white photos - an issue we on the Ford Project deal with every day - but in the case of the two images above I would suspect that there is two distinct themes - one civil and the other military - and both look to me as suitable era colours for their assigned tasks. And during that era many aircraft served several roles and were often repainted to suit the current need. For example some Ford Tri-Motor aircraft served as many as 30 different owners/companies/countries. All would have been scrubbed down and repainted to suit the owners.

Glad your enjoying our renditions of the Bf108

It stands for: Artificial Intelligence. The planes that do there own thing in the background of your flight sim world
are running on "Artificial Intelligence" so they're known as A.I. traffic.

I know exactly were you are coming from on the "BEFORE initials World" thing Jean! I'm a member of
Party Poker.Com and all those people do on that site is use initials in the chat window. I'm always asking what
the HELL DOES THAT MEAN?

Like for instance: T.Y.V.M.=(Thank you very much) - Or - V.N.H.=(Very Nice Hand) The only initials I know and know
well are: T.G.I.F. and S.S.D.D. :P

Dwayne

P.S. My apologies Garry, I didn't see that you had already answered Jean's A.I. Question.
