Hi Mate,
OK - there are several ways to use aircraft models in Flight Sim, Flyable Models, Artificial Intellengence flying models and Static models.
(a) Flyable models are ones that have the full aircraft - the works - aircraft/panels/ (some with VC - some not) depending on what the model creator chooses to develop.
(b) Artificial Intellence models (AI) - Used for flight sim traffic - stripped down to the bare minimum to reduce frame rate impact within the sim - basically a flying skin for the aircraft.
(c) Static Models - models that have been converted to a scenery object for static placement within scenery.
The Ford Project Team mostly supply the flying model with their aircraft texture packs - however, that is only where we have permission from the aircraft model developer to do such. Microsoft unfortunately does not give generic permission for publishing their aircraft included in packages.
Some simmers bundle them into their packages despite the Microsoft outlook - but the Ford Project Site honours as best as possible the developers rights and therefore do not include aircraft models if consent is not available.
Regards and happy simming
