STOP THIEF, STOP!

Postby OldAirmail » Sat Nov 23, 2013 2:41 pm

STOP THIEF, STOP!

I have two recessed lights, one on each side of the street end of my car port.

Image

There HAD been a 7 Watt (60 Watt equivalent) LED bulb in each.

Last night I noticed that the light was a bit dim, so I checked one of them this morning. It's now a 25 Watt incandescent (refrigerator) bulb. I checked the second one. Same thing.

MAGIC? No. Some scummy neighbor is taking expensive bulbs out and replacing them with bulbs from the Dollar Store (2 for $1.00).

My day/night vision camera will get here on Monday.

Sometime afterwards I'll replace the bulbs with some cheaper LED bulbs. After these are stolen, I hope to be calling the police.

If I'm at home when they try it again, I could let the savage Shih Tzus out the door to rip them to bloody shreds. :D

Its almost understandable in a way, with the present price of electric light bulbs.... ....

Domestic Filament light bulbs used to cost around 50-60 Pence each at one time....Now these new "energy efficient, environmental friendly" ones cost between £2 and £4.50+ each!

Domestic Filament bulbs have now been removed from the shops and replaced with expensive Fluorescent/Halogen bulbs.

Paul..."lighten our darkness..."....someone said.... ;) ...!

Yesterday....my replacement for my 60 Pence, 100 Watt Filament bulb, cost me £2 for a 100 Watt Halogen bulb!

Not this one, Jean, but i've had three of those in a row some years ago!
The downside is, they are only getting 7-8 years old (when trained)! That hurts every time you need to say goodbye so fast.
The upside is, they are the most reliable, child lowing and self thinking dogs, when treated well!!
I sure miss that companionship today.......

They still sell them in Poundland. 2 for £1.

Ta for the tip, Doug... ;) ...!

Just bought one low energy 100 watt Quartz Halogen bulb from Sainsbury's...cost £2.....
I could have bought four 100 Watt Filament bulbs for that price from Poundland!
(The equivalent low energy 100 Watt Fluorescent bulb costs £4.50+!).

The only real advantage, the low energy bulbs last longer...(probably... ....).
