Natural selection

Is it possible, and easy, to create and reset the aircraft "types" to your own choices?

For instance;
WWI aircraft
WWII aircraft
Military Jets
Early Prop passenger
Early Jet passenger
Currant Prop Passenger
Currant Jet Passenger
Private Prop
Private Jet

A corollary to that would be: Can you create a "type" such as;
WWI & WWII aircraft
Private Prop & Jet
Air Cargo - Prop & Jet

Could that also be done with "Aircraft Manufacturer"? Carenado may make software, but its planes should be listed under the aircraft manufacturer.

Yes and yes.
Copy your original aircraft.cfg file to a safe place, or leave it as is ad rename it aicraft.cfg.backup...something easy to help you know that it is the original.

Now, for type, you are looking for this line in your cfg file...
ui_typerole="Twin Engine Prop"

You can edit that and it will show up in the Type list. It must be ui_typerole="**"
I've seen ui_type="***" and that defaults to I believe "Legacy" in your type drop down.

The manufacturer list is looking for this entry in the cfg...
ui_manufacturer=Cessna

Same deal as the type listing.

Good luck.

Thanks, and thanks.

When I fly in certain areas, or moods, I'm looking for certain types of planes.

Thanks.
