Need a good Gauge Editor for FS2004

Hello Gentlemen;
Been a while since I wrote the forum,so I felt it was time to bring you another troublesome comment. I have Airman2002 Last Update.With it,there's a program called Gauge Editor.I am looking for a better editor.Not that the one from Airman is no good.I have used it in the past to edit some gauge colors to match homemade panels for the 747-400. But,I would like to know if there's an editor that might have a few more advantages than the one from Airman.Again,Airman IS a good tool,and so is the gau editor.Just want something a little more up to date.Thanks for any help here. // "Altitude With Attitude!" // Stephan

Hey Pete. The reason I wanted a gauge editor was simply to repaint them so they would blend better with the panel background.It looked awfully bad to have the beige switches from the 747-400 on a homemade panel of a gray scheme.The editor allows me to repaint the 747-400 gauges,and I resave them with a different name,with the letters gr in the name noting that the gauge is gray in color.The editor happens to be the one I initially mentioned above.I simply had to work at getting to know how it works.And now that I know how it works,I like it rather well.As far as modifying the operations of a gauge,thats a different ballgame altogether.I have some experience in xml operations,but it has been a while. // stephan "Altitude With Attitude!"

Good to hear you found an Editor that works for you! Personally, I use FS Panel Studio... it's worth every penny, and for a Luddite like me it makes altering Panels a snap! Every time I acquire a new airplane, there I go with FSPS, changing things around to suit my needs!

It's also made me a 'Gauge junkie', scouring the File Libraries for some good looking, functional Gauges!

Alan...I am so on board with you there.I have in my gauge folder 6,622 gauges (gau) and 93 folders of xml gauges. Everytime I download a new AC,I hope for a new gauge I haven't seen or used yet. Even go to different sites to look for the latest panels,hoping someone has made new ones or released a payware.I am not a cheapskate,looking only for free handouts on downloads.I am unemployed (thanks to the economy,and the northern Ohio area has taken such a hit on the steel industry),so I have to watch every penny I have.Thats also the reason I dont have the nice payware editors.But I sure do have a ball making my own panels.My favorite small business jet is the Embraer Phenom 300.The panel I made for that one is outrageous!This the panel cfg for my Phenom,and I use EVERY gauge and my panel windows share 3 monitors//
