Well this sucks...... a lot

Postby expat » Fri Jun 07, 2013 2:17 am

It has been a beautiful week, blue skies with the odd cloud or two. Warm evenings that scream out, "sit in your garden with a beer in hand". Maybe do some work on you classic car, go for a bike ride with the children or take your wife for an evening meal in the local beer garden........ but no, not this week. I am viewing this wonderful weather from my hospital bed where I have been for the last week. I won't go into the details, but has anyone tired, no, belay that, been forbidden to eat good a week. Dinner is served sir. Unfortunately you won't be tasting it as it is in a bottle and well be.....in the form of an IV into your arm up until yesterday. Real good for breakfast today. Let's see how long takes to go through my system....... greased and weasel shit comes to mind.

Hopefully home tomorrow......

I remember this as it were yesterday...

In my navy time, the ship rushed into the nearest harbour, luckwice not far away, i got a bad appendicitis...

I were put into a room with two other males, not appendix related. When they were served dinner, beef with onions, new potatoes, salad with dressing and bread and butter.....no wonder i took a look at mine:

BEETROOT SOUP WITH NOTHING.....and the worse, the nurses had the dummiest grin i've ever seen :x

I kept my appendix and got a little grin after, one nurse gave me her phonenumber ;)

Roast Appendix, with Onions, makes a very tasty meal, Bass...

If you've still got it, (in a Jar?), give it a try... ;) ...!

Tough luck Matt, I've been told that if you miss your morning coffee, don't try pouring it down the tube, you can drink it but it tastes like shit.

Thanks for the best wishes etc. I came home today. I will be off work next week too. I managed, at the tender age of 45 to get diverticulitis. Normally reserved for people in Fozzers age bracket. Bit of a bummer, but that's life, deal with it....

"A bit of a bummer" certainly describes it, Matt!... :( ...!

(Just had a read-up)....

I hope it all gets sorted out OK, Matt..!

Bloody uncomfortable in the meantime..

Chin-up...

Paul.

As I get older, I find I spend more and more time making sure I keep my Stomach and its various bits and bobs in good working order...

..that's where problems generally start!

Matt I wish you a very speedy recovery. My wife had it a couple of years ago and she said it was the sickest she's ever been outside of the "Flu of Death" she had ten years ago. I don't know if age has much to do with it because my mother's cousin actually died from it when she was in her twenties BUT that was many years ago, probably around 1940 something.

If it moves and it's not supposed to - use the Duct Tape.

Just come home from my Doc. Another week off work at home and enough drugs to make the average 70's rock star blush......
Everything appears to be doing what it should though. The only downer, I have to have the old shufty-scope up the jet pipe in six weeks............... :character-cartman:
