Cali, Colombia Airport scenery issue

Postby Evan Popchock » Sun Apr 21, 2013 10:51 pm

Hey, I just had an FSX flight to Cali Colombia ruined by some kind of unusual terrain problem at my destination Airport, and I crashed my plane. The problem I am having is that where the runway was supposed to be, there is now this huge crater with dropoffs on all four sides. This meant that I had to dive my plane nose-first into the runway. I tried monkeying with the scenery settings after my flight to solve the scenery issue, and that didn't change anything at all. Any ideas on how to fix this? :?: I want to post a picture on here describing the problem I am having but I don't know how to do that.

Are you using all default scenery or are you using a revised airport or terrain mesh.

Just checked Cali-SKCL and saw no problems using all FSX default scenery.

This problem can occur if you are using an add-on terrain mesh and the author has not included airport elevation corrections where needed.

As of right now, I am not using any scenery addons or terrain mesh for Cali, Colombia. Most of what I do use for south America is for other airports, but not the one I flew to last night.

I do use Ultimate Terrain X USA, but this doesn't cover South America. It only covers North America. <<r

If you have no add-ons, (scenery, airport or terrain mesh) for the area I can't explain it at this time. As I said, the default (English ver.) FSX SKCL shows properly.

If you have any scenery of any sort installed in the area, you could try disabling it in the Scenery Library to see if it makes a difference.

If you could post a screen shot, it might help. You can upload an image(s) by clicking the Upload Images button at the top of any SimV forum page. Pay attention to the image limits on the Upload.. page.

Is the whole airport sunken, or just the runway?

Using slew, would you post the elevations of the runway/airport and the terrain at the rim of the crater.
