WS Pilots server ports, swopped around...

Postby Fozzer » Tue Oct 11, 2005 2:35 pm

Hi Lads... ;D...!

The WS Pilots server ports have been swopped around for some reason....

23456 is now Desert SW USA.
23457 is World Tour.
...and Yellowstone is now 23458... :o...!

How does this affect us who have got used to using the default Yellowstone server on 23456...?

..any ideas, John B, and Nemo...?

Cheers all...!

Paul... 8)

Paul,

When you type in the WSPilots i.p address in i.p box it will give you a choice of these (see screenshot below):

all you do is select the Yellowstone server and away you go, but if people are using fs2002 we will be using a different server in total which is 2002 compatable.

AND.... you need to make sure that the appropriate ports are opened in firewalls and outers in addition to the default one.

DS from WSPilots ("The BOSS") is VERY particular about this port stuff.

I presume that I am OK with WS Pilots' Ports....?

FS 2004.
Dial-up Modem, plugged straight into the 'phone line.
Windows XP Pro, (original, no Service Packs).
Windows Firewall box un-ticked.
Routers....none...!
LAN...none...

No probs so far with 23456... 8)...!
..so are there likely to be any probs using 23457 and 23458..?

Cheers...!

Paul.

P.S. Interestingly, after six years of attempting to use Multiplayer without success, the WS Pilots site is the only one that has actually worked faultlessly using Port 23456... ;D...!

Fozzer,

Unless your service provider has some sort of firewall set up between you and the net..... without the Windows firewall active, I THNIK your ports are all "open".  But I am not sure on that one.

If you go the the WSPilots forums... they can probably answer the questions since it is often extensiveley discussed there in minute "techy" detail  ;).  I don't remember seeing that level of detail in any thread here.

best,

LOL...!

Hi Jared... ;D...!

It is imperative to know that your Prostrate Gland is in full working order before taking to the skies.... 8)...!

Any slight anomaly during flight can affect your capacity to reach the nearest airfield before the water-works department takes over full control of your nether regions....:o...!
...with disastrous results, requiring a bit of aircraft Spring-cleaning during the week-end... :'(...!

LOL...!

"Prostrate" is a highly desirable, relaxing condition in which I find myself during most of the day.... 8)...!

Cheers John... ;D...!
