Forums Upgrade

Postby pete » Mon Jul 13, 2009 4:46 am

I will be freezing the forum at some stage today in order to carry out an upgrade.

Full backup has been made in case of problems but the upgrade should not take more than a couple of hours.

The new version has more features (so I am told) and is more stable with large forums.

Thank you for your patience.  8-)

Update --- maybe not right now!

The machine was running badly this morning so I have rebooted it.

I will now monitor the situation before doing anything like an upgrade -- which is quite an involved process where timeouts can be detrimental to installation ....

Yabb 3.0 ? 8-)

Or another software entirely?

Nice and smooth now, we're lucky we have such a dedicated webmaster. ;)

Upgrade has been put on hold - will be done after we see the effects of a few tweaks to this one.

How smooth can you get...
Sometimes that's the best upgrade news you can get...

although I now have to start at the bottom of the list and work my way up.
