Suggestion for the screenies section

Postby FridayChild » Wed Nov 16, 2005 10:20 am

I often find myself astonished at looking at other people's freeware screenshots. I think it would be a good thing if admirers were put in the conditions of trying to make their FS look more like those wonderful screenshots.
So why not encourage posters to always specify what appears in the picture? What scenery package, what enhancements, what aircrafts, what addons... the ideal complement of this would be if every user specified his/her hardware configuration in the signature.
I understand sometimes this could be difficult, because often people don't remember exactly all that they installed, but still...

It's a good idea.  I'd suggest that when you see a screenshot that is particularly interesting to you and you want to know more about it, that you make a post asking for more information!

It's better that way since there will be a more direct question and the screenshot poster willbe better able to reply.

That's what I usually do. I thought that maybe we could suggest it, to encourage people to do it spontaneously. Sometimes I browse through old screenies, and replying to them would pop the post back on top, which is undesirable. Besides, a MP would not do because there might be other people interested in this. What do you think?

Personally I find posting pictures or screenshots time consuming enough when there are more than 2 or 3 in the topic. Some people here post 4 or 5 topics a day, and I see it getting a tad frustrating having to post what it is and so on every post.

Every time I fly, I take screenshots.
Sometimes I never even get around to posting them until about a week or two later.
With all I have going on in my life, sometimes I can't remember where the flight was or even what the aircraft was.

Screenshots are art and art is in the eye of the beholder.   ;)

Isn't that "Beauty is in the eye of the beholder"? ;D ::)
