Caveman

Postby beefhole » Sun Mar 26, 2006 11:22 am

He emailed me this morning, it appears he's having problems logging in.

From the email-
This morning I ran a program  " crapcleaner "  and it wiped out all reconition of me from the forums.  I can't even re-register or get in touch with anyone to help.  My PC keeps coming back to me with an error message saying  in effect that  #1   I'm already logged in /  #2 that  I   "in effect "   don't exist .    I even used the  "RESTORE " program and get the same results.

Hope someone can figure this out for him.

He may have registered with a different name & changed it to Caveman.
There is a caveman16 with 170 posts.

Need to know a little more - a link to one of his posts would help a lot.

Appears his ID has reverted to its original form http://www.simviation.com/cgi-bin/yabb/ ... 1133020511

Hi Mark - he will have done this somehow. His system probably had an old cookie & when he signed on it used that.

Not our problem. As long as he can log in. If he can't he need s to use his old username & I can asign a new pw which he can then change.

I agree Pete! That does seem the most plausible explanation....

I'll pass that on to him, if he isn't already reading the thread.

Thanks ;)

One thing I noticed from that old thread. Pass your mouse cursor over his screen name. He's caveman16 now but originally registered under the name caveman1

Easy to forget little things like that.

What do you expect from a caveman?

Should we tell him about the wheel?  ;D  ;D

Caveman sent me another email. He's still having problems logging in.

He said a kind admin was good enough to send him another temporary username and password last time this happened.

Anyone have any suggestions for him?

Hey Congo,      THE REST PERIOD IS OVER FOR YOU GUYS.      ;D ;D ;D     [ THANK YOU my friend ]

I keep you guys busy trying to stay one step ahead of me.  ;D

Here's what happened.  I GOOFED UP AGAIN.  :-[

I brag about you guys to all my friends.   I cause more problems than  I'm worth.   Please accept my apologies.   I am VERY sorry.

While working on my PC the other day,   I opened   an  "antivirus program"  to get rid of it as it was about to expire.   I tried to delete it in every manner I knew of ,  BUT couldn't get it out of the PC.

I than took the folder apart one piece at a time and sent all of them to the  "trash can".    After  "DELETING" the file  [at last] ,  I than ran a check on the PC to make sure everything was working OK before emtying the  "trash".        I really messed-up because I overlooked the  " Favorites"  on-line sites.

Then the entire PC crashed and I could hardly even use the PC at all.    I did the only thing I knew to do.   I re-installed  the recovery CDs  and started over from scratch.

You guys know the rest from my attempts  to "GET IN" the forums.    I hope to some day get enough knowledge to know my way around the PCs better.   I study as much as possible  and with you guys always so helpful to me,  how could I go wrong ?

Hey  Pete,   sorta feel sorry for causing you so much work.   That's so nice of you to  "put up" with me .

Hey Dave,   I started with four flat sides to that wheel .    I've only got two sides  and a hole to go.  Thanks for helping me  "chip away " at that stone. ;D

All you guys are really something,  I  am so appreciative and thankful for having so many friends  helping me.
