Military Releases C-17 Crash Footage, out of respect for the families they don't show the tragic end.

Wow that was a very steep bank. The C-17 is quite maneuverable for its size... but that was way too much bank for such a low altitude. Reminds me alot of the B-52 crash at Fairchild

That is exactly what every one at work has said that has seen it now. Also the climb was way steeper then it was supposed to be, every one was surprised he did not fall straight down on take off.
Did it crash because of the same reason the B-52 crashed, or because the wing, especially the right wing, stalled?
edit: here's the report http://www.pacaf.af.mil/library/aibreports/index.asp
I thought the same... the climb was crazy steep. I was sure it was just gonna nose over and have the same end result.
The reason why they were flying the way they did is because they were practicing and preparing for the airshow there at Elmendorf AFB thus were practicing the moves they were going to present to show the capabilities of the aircraft.

Agreed... I've seen them do that climb at airshows before... It's probablly a best angle (Vx) climb.
