After years of hand-me-downs...

..of various bits of hardware...

..you know the sort of thing...
...."I've got a new mega-snazzy-amazing bit of XYZ, and you can have my old version for nothing!"...!

Well my old, not-so-mega-snazzy-amazing piece of hardware; H-P Desk-jet 670C Printer, firmly refused to function after installing Windows 7...
..reason...no drivers for Win 7!

..and silly old me thinking it might have been as simple as; Microsoft "Plug-n-Play"... ::)..!

NAH!..that doesn't work!.. >:(...!

So...

I got my trusty Motor-bike out and rushed ot to Currys/PC World to select a brand-spanking-new, Kodak ESP 1,2, all-in-one-printer for the bargain price of
Win 8.1 64-bit. DX11. Advent Tower. Intel i7-3770 3.9 GHz 8-core. 8 GB System RAM. AMD Radeon HD 7700 1GB RAM. DVD ROM. 2 Terra Byte SATA Hard Drive. Philips 17" LCD Monitor. Saitek Cyborg X Fly-5 Joystick. ...and a Briggs and Stratton Petrol Lawn Mower.

A very nice pressie to yourself there Fozzer. I was given a mega-expensive printer/scanner a few weeks ago from a mate who said it wasn't working. Took me 25 minutes to strip it, re-solder the dry joint and re-connect the cable. Hey presto ;D ;D ;D

... ;D....!

I occasionally open my trusty purse, release the spiders and butterflies out, and treat myself to various prezzies every now and again!... :-*...!

My hand-me-down-printer from one of my lads; "This is for you, Dad X", was an old HP 670C Inkjet Printer, which although it was had inkjet mechanism, sounded more like a dot-matrix printer, as it scanned, line-line-line, and vibrated itself slowly off the table!
I only use printers for printing instruction manuals, (Chord Charts*), etc, with black ink, so it did the job perfectly in Windows XP, ......until I installed Win 7, then my problems started... :o...
...no Windows 7 HP Drivers for my old HP printer, so it wasn't recognised in Win 7, and wouldn't work....only print pages of gobbaldy-gook....

...so much for Windows Plug 'n Play!... >:(...!

*To save myself buying a Chord Chart Book from the music shop for my new Ukulele, I bought my new "WINDOWS 7" Printer, and printed what I wanted off the Internet!
