Touch screen Phones

I'm hoping someone can help me out here. My girl has a standard LG cell phone that she's paying 35 a month for Bell service provider and she doesn't use it that much. So for Christmas she hinted that she would like a pay as you go phone with touch screen large enough to easily see. So I have done the searches and since I don't know Jack on the topic I thought I would ask here. Any ideas or suggestions would be appreciated.

Wait for the Google Nexus 4 to get in stock. It's only $299 for the 8GB version and $349 for the 16GB version. It's also unlocked, meaning that you are not tied to any contract and you can use whatever plan you want.

Hey thanks F35! Those have been available here since Dec 3, now I just have to look into pay as you go because she does not want a monthly fee unless she uses it. But she wants to be able to use it for the camera and free to use apps.

Depends on how big she wants it.
If she wants Iphone 4 size, get her either an overpriced Iphone or get here a samsung galaxy S2 for nearly half the price. ::)
Pretty much the same, only slightly different in performance and most differences are in samsung's advantage but they're all quite expensive, usualy 150+ but over here in Ireland my dad managed to get one for 110 I believe.(don't ask, deal involving changing to vodafone for 50 euro off...Other side of the street was a meteor shop which selled sim-cards for 10)...

If she wants an average sized one I think the samsung galaxy young, galaxy mini and most HTCs might be the best ones, they're around 100 I believe...

IMHO apple is way too overpriced, barely any hardware difference between most androids.

EDIT:seeing you are considering a 300 euro phone I would recommend a samsung S2(perfect size) or S3(slightly too big IMO but more hardware).

But of course this all varies on your taste.

Thanks Jetprop, Some great suggestions and I'll check into the Galaxy line because cheaper is better for me. She just wants touchscreen and no contracts. As a sidenote, there are no Apple products in my home, so when you visit us you have to leave your expensive I phones at the door! ;D
