IS THE AMD FX8150 8 CORE AT 3.6 GHZ A GOOD CPU OR IS THE INTEL I3770K AT 3.4 AND QUAD CORE BETTER?

i7-3770K would beat it by far it most tasks.

This question has caused so many battles over the ages.
Intel guys will say theirs are better, and AMD guys will say theirs are cheaper.
both are true statements, and that's it.
Really, it depends on what you want to do. Without getting overly technical, both are some of the best out there.
If you want high benchmark scores, then go intel. They have always been on top for benching. However, if you plan on using FSX to really work your CPU, scores don't make the first bit of difference. A synthetic number will tell you very little about how it really does what it's supposed to do. Besides, most benching programs are written around Intel architecture anyway.
I run AMD, and always have. There isn't a huge difference in performance, at least not $800 worth of it between the 2 most expensive of either manufacturer. I will never buy a CPU only for what it would cost to build a good system for.
Priced comparably, the intel is a better choice, but look at the AMD 4170. 4.2 and turbo to 4.3 GHz stock, with plenty of OCing room. That's my next build. $120 for that AMD, and over $1000 for Intels best.
The choice is very clear. Both will give you excellent performance. The difference would be roughly 45-50 FPS locked for the AMD, or 50-55 FPS for the intel. That is not $880 worth of difference to me.
Just a guide. All that depends more on how much power you give it, OCing, memory, a few other variables.
