Selecting a Video Card

I'm having some graphics issues with Microsoft FSX and I'm pretty sure it's due to the video card that came with the computer. Unfortunately I don't do much gaming on computers (only FSX) So I've no idea about graphics card specifications and how to go about selecting a proper one.

HP model h8-1234
Processor: AMD six-core FX6120 3.5 GHz
installed memory: 10GB PC3-10600 DDR3 SDRAM
Graphics: AMD Radeon HD7450
Monitor: 23' 1920 x 1080 with VGA or HDMI input
Available PCI Express

I'd would be appreciative of any recommendations anyone has...

What sort of graphics issues are you having with FSX?
Although that is a pretty low end card, FSX is highly CPU dependent, so a GPU upgrade will not yield a massive fps increase.

When I use the spot plane view (or any outside views really), it functions correctly for a bit, but after a few minutes FSX freezes then abruptly shuts down before restarting. I should note I am using scenery settings at high or ultra high.

Have you checked your system for heat problems.
That could be the case.
