Upgrades, upgrades...

We were talking about my new rig over in the MS Flight forum, and about what upgrades might be needed.  On the surface, I thought I was buying a decent machine, but in practice it seems lacking in many regards so it's time to dump some money into it.

You can see the specs HERE...

I want to upgrade:

Power supply (already purchased 460 watt)
Video card (at least 2 Gb)
Ram (planning on 16 Gb, but we'll see if that's needed after the video card)
Turn the 1 Tb drive into a RAID.

I am wondering if there is a way to benchmark this so I can compare the results after I do each step.  My first objective is replacing the cheesy 250 watt power supply and for that I bought a 460 watt one.  Should have enough power, right?

By the time I'm done, hopefully it will be a passable machine.  ;)

Any ideas or comments would be helpful...

Kevin

You could have a look at FurMark for the benchmark. I believe it gives you meaningful data to look in terms of statistics.
