The racket from the fan on my nVidia Graphics Card was driving me scatty...
So I carefully removed the Card, removed the Fan from the heat sink, carefully released the adhesive sticker from the bearing end of the fan, applied a drop of light oil, to the bearing, and replaced the sticker again to trap the oil in place.
The result: Total silence!
The Fan bearings do eventually dry-out after a while, and like all bearings, require re-oiling to extend their life!
A simple job to perform, with suitable tools at hand.
It applies to all the Fans when noisy, through a shortage of lubricant; Processor Fans, Graphics Card Fans, and Case Fans.
If your Computer Fans are making more noise than your Vacuum Cleaner, then its time for some urgent maintenance!
