3d TVs and FSX

Postby FLFlyGuy » Thu Aug 25, 2011 6:58 pm

I have wanted to get a tv that will present fsx in 3d...do I need a particular model or will it work with any 3d TV?  I thought this vizio was kinda nice, would it work?  I have asus engtx470 card on computer.

i chatted an agent with vizio. he wanted to know what format fsx output in for 3d...??:  "game and computer must output the 3d signal in either side by side , top/bottom, or sensio and you must use a 3d ready 1.4 rated hdmi cable."  he then suggested i contact ms...

obviously i do not know much about this stuff. thx for any help.

As far as i'm aware FSX does not output 3D graphics so it will not work.
Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

Most people think that flying a plane is dangerous, except pilots because they know how easy it is.
Arguing with a pilot is like wrestling with a pig in the mud, after a while you begin to think the pig likes it.

I stand corrected ;D

I didn't see any options over the many years of using FSX though, or it's just one of those things you have to research to get :)

Someone gifted a HP Envy 17 3D http://www.shopping.hp.com/webapp/shopping/computer_can_series.do?storeName=computer_store&category=notebooks&a1=Category&v1=ENVY&series_name=ENVY173D_series&jumpid=in_R329_prodexp/hhoslp/psg/notebooks/ENVY/ENVY173D_series laptop to me. It runs FSX in 3D with Tri-Def 3D software, however only the aircraft is 3D, scenery is still 2D. You could look at Tri-Def 3D products, which includes Televisions: http://www.ddd.com/tridef-products/

I have a Samsung 3D TV that will convert anything you watch to 3D.. Don't see why it will not work with FSX
