Hi. I'm gonig to upgrade to 4-6gb memory, and I know XP 32bit can only see 3gb, but there is a boot.ini line htat can be edited to see more. can anyone tell me what it is?

I am planning to rebuild to W7 when I can afford to, both moneywise and timewise. But need this info for the present

Go to this thread and look for this /3GB/Userva=2560

http://www.simforums.com/Forums/setting ... 29041.html

It will tell you how to add the userva switch to XP 32bit

The success of the tricks to enable the memory above and beyond 3Gb for 32bit Windows is very dependent by the motherboard. On some motherboards it works perfectly, and you find people with 8GB ram available under Xp 32bit, and then there are the motherboards like mine, on which all the various tricks don't work even begging it abjectly while crying in ancient Aramaic. :'(

For the record, I have a Athlon 64 X2 6000 with 4GB and motherboard Asus M2N, and the only way for me, and I guess all the other owners of this MB, to have the memory above 3Gb available is to migrate to a 64bit OS (to happen in the next future). :P
