You can do MUCH better for FSX and $1500, than that Gateway. Many times premanufactured PCs have very limited potential for growth. I understand why you might not want to build your own, but OnD is right. Dollar for dollar, building your own system is usually the best way to go. HOWEVER, if you have your heart set on one that's already assembled, have a look at these. (Newegg just started selling them)

First, just to cover my butt, let me say that I have NEVER DEALT WITH THIS COMPANY BEFORE. From the looks of it though, I'd say that these machines are pretty resonably priced and look to be made with hardware a builder would use to put his or her own machine together with.

The best of both worlds?

I really can't help you out with which would be the best for FSX, but someone here should be able to.

Keeping in mind that 'NEWEGG' is a reseller (doesn't make anything themselves) they have an excellent reputation.

Try here.

From the looks of things (I have no firsthand experience with either), the ATI card may yield higher frame rates in some games, but the NVidia card is said to be smoother and more "playable". ;)

I'm glad we could help. This is just my opinion, but when someone starts talking about a new "gaming machine", Gateway really isn't the first thing that comes to mind. ;D

[color=#000000]I can't speak to the nvidia other than it seems popular and Nick says they are better for FS. The ATI is a great card for any new games, but has problems with FSX. I know, because that's what I am running. I had to add ATI Tray Tools to get rid of the jaggies as ATI CC would not do it. AVG recently nixed a Tray Tools file and I still don't have the problem solved. So if FS is your main game, I suggest nvidia.

If God intended aircraft engines to have horizontally opposed engines, Pratt and Whitney would have made them that way.

Well sometimes I play fsx and then for a time I do not. One other graphic intense game that i play is darkspace but I haven't played that for a few months. I think i should go with the ati and remove (but not throw away) and buy the new nvidia gtx 590 it's two gtx 580 gpus
