Saitek X52 problems

I'm having some problems with my 4 yo Saitek X52 stick and throttle.

First of all, my rudder control keeps randomly going full left, even without me touching the stick.

Secondly, the top rotary knob on the throttle, which I would like to set to yaw trim, keeps going to zero when it is in the middle indentation.

Lastly, the small rotary knob on the throttle travels to zero when I turn it all the way forward. None of these knobs physically move during this, but when I check the settings, it thinks that they are.

Is this a software problem, or are there some wires loose? If so, is it possible for me to fix it? I don't really want to get a new joystick, but this is annoying me to the point that I can't fly with it, especially the rudder problem.

Try unplugging everything (usb and the cable connecting the two halves) and then boot up your fs.
After it has booted, plug it all back up and see if it still messes up... Mine used to do the same thing as far as the rudder goes, and this worked for me. Also, check and see if your drivers are working properly...Good luck

That didn't fix it.

Have you tried this:

Start up a flight and while you are still on the ground press NUMLOCK and then (numpad) 5. If correct this will reset all controls to centre. If it changes your viewpoint try again.

I'm not convinced it's a problem with a cable since it's a few specific thing that don't work.

That didn't work either. I think some wires inside each device are loose.

After experiencing similar problems with those same two rotaries and doing the CD, driver reboot thing, gave them each an assignment - big one props, little one mixtures.

I thought I was having cable problems months ago but it turned out to be a driver problem. But I do have cable problems now. If I pick up or move the entire joystick, the lights flash and controls go haywire. I have gotten in the habit of unplugging the usb cable every time I quit FSX and move it out of the way. Then before I plug it in the next time I fly, I move it where I want it, then plug in the usb cable. I am unsure if it is the cable, connector, or wires inside the stick. I have given up trying to get Saitek to do anything. The last time they never responded to my email. When it works properly, I love it, but I have had way too many problems with it considering the cost.
