Would it be worth it?

Postby Groundbound1 » Sat May 29, 2010 9:11 pm

I have a chance to pick up a used eVGA 8800 GTX for $60.

A) Is it worth that? (provided all works as it should)

And

B) Would it provide a marked improvement over the HD 3870 I'm using now?

I mainly use my rig for FS9, FSX, Crysis, and COD4 all at 1856  X 1396 @ 75hz.

I have it (specs below) and it works wonders for FS9, FSX (if tweeked correctly)  and COD4.

Great card. ;)

Doubt it would be a massive improvement.

I can't say anything regarding improvement because I have used no other card. I bet the newer Nvidia Geforce 9800 series (or whatever they are named) are cheap and powerful.

Still, it runs FS 2004 (and FSX) OK...Mus'nt grumble!... ::)... ;D...!
