No 6-7-6-18 RAM in stock

Ok does any one know of a link to a site that has:

3x2GB DDR3 1600 6-7-6-18

or

2x3GB DDR3 1600 6-7-6-18

I have been searching for 2 days now, and that particular timing is sold out on every web site I go to. So as of right now, my upgraded PC is not together until I find that RAM.

I found 1 site, but it is 4gigs and not 6 so I have not done any thing.

well newegg has some ram, not the exact timing you want tho
7-8-7-20
7-8-7-24-2N
6-6-6-20

and I am seeing a lot of 9-9-9 and 8-8-8-24
This was using newegg and fryselectronics.

Yeah I looked there, they don't have any. It really does have to be 6-7-6-18 Timing, nothing else

If you're looking to try and tighten up these timings, you may have problems. That is probably about as hard as DDR3 can run without corrupting installed software (such as your OS).
The good news is though, you can use 8-8-8-24 RAM and change the timings in your BIOS to what you want (if yours has the option to change timings) usually with just a voltage increase. If you're trying to get the fastest (lowest latencies) RAM, you can pretty much assign it's timings yourself, and get what you want for a little cheaper...
Do your homework, as I would advise to anyone, there's a lot of stuff I don't understand about timings. However, there's a lot that you can do to just about anything, if you know what you're changing and how it will respond.
Good luck, my friend!

Hope this helps...

I was going off of what NickN recommended, and since he is the resident programmer/genius I was following his word to the letter for every thing for my PC upgrade, and out of every thing, that is the only thing I can't find in stock any place currently

So I wasn't trying to tell you to go against anybody, and with as much cutting-edge gear as you've got, holy moly!
I thought I was helpin, but if you got all that, then yes, you DO need that RAM. I just didn't know what you were trying to do, and thought you may be able to use some out-of-the-box info.

Have you tried to find "Mushkin Redline" stuff? Is that what this is? A guy that NickN helped out got his i7 950 to 4.2 GHz using that stuff. I'm not an intel guy, but that's a common choice for Intel OCing.

Hope this helps...

If every thing were installed I would have this up and running right now:
i7-960
COOLER MASTER Intel Core i7 compatible V8 RR-UV8-XBU1-GP 120mm Rifle CPU Cooler
BFG Tech BFGEGTX2851024OCBE GeForce GTX 285
ASUS P6T Deluxe V2 LGA 1366 Intel X58 ATX Intel
Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit
6 gig of _______RAM running 6-7-6-18
1 TB Main Hard drive, 500 & 300gig back up for anime.
Xclio A380 case with 4 different size fans
[/quote]

It will be sweet to see how far you OC that BAD DAWG once you got it together! Those new Intel i7s are awesome for that! Good luck!

Yeah that's what he told me to look for, but the Mushkin is sold out all over the net, I had to email the company last night to see when they will be restocked or if there is a place to get some.

I found one site, but they are some island that does not ship to the USA, so that did not help, and they only had 2 in stock when I looked.

He also mentioned: Geil 2x3GB DDR3 1600 6-7-6-18, but I can't find that either.

what island?
That seems rather strange.

I don't think is specifically has to be 6-7-6-18 RAM.

6-6-6-20 sounds decent. Lower = faster.

New Zealand?

LMAO.

The ram that Nick recommended is Mushkin Redline Model #998691.  This is a 3*2GB pack for a total of 6GB and this has the 6-7-6-18 timing, I have the same thing.

This is available on Newegg, but as soon as they get some in it is sold out in a week or less, you will just need to check everyday.

Here is a link to the spec on Mushkin's site:
http://www.mushkin.com/Memory/Redline/998691.aspx

Except for the heat spreader this is the same thing if you can find it.  Depending on what CPU HS and MB you are going to use you may or may not be able to use it.  This is also availabe on and off at Newegg.

Have you tried http://www.compusa.com/ and http://frys.com/ also http://www.bestbuy.com/
Just some ideas. You probably already knew about these. I love the hell out of Frys, and their stores always hypnotize me! My Girlfriend hates a trip there! I'm sure, though, it must be what a trip to the mall is like for me...

I went to frys.com and saw this:
http://www.frys.com/product/6103069?sit ... IN_RSLT_PG

Maybe this would be near as good, at least for timings and speed. Maybe NickN could give some feedback on this?

CL6 & 1600mhz will have the same latency as CL7 @ 1866mhz. They should be the same or similar speeds although I am unsure how memory dividers work on the i7 so I am unsure if 1866mhz is more difficult to utilize than 1600.

I know this isn't the way to do this, but I must share this. you all must see this freeware add on scenery deal for yourselves. This is my favorite forum thingy, and need to share with folks that I talk to regularly. Here's the link to simviation's thread for what I'm talking about. Please check this out!

Ok I tried all those and they don't have it, and best buy might have it, but they don't list all the specs, so Best Buy did not help at all.

And I guess I'll have to ask NickN if there is an alternative, but he hammered it in my head to get what he said for best results.
