Time for a new stick

My Logitech 3d Pro died today.  The hat switch will not go to the right, and about half of the buttons no longer function.  It kind of happened suddenly, so I'm confused about that.  Anyway, looking to buy a new stick, and not sure what to get.  I've read a lot of mixed reviews about almost every one on the market.  Looks like I'll have to shop online, since no local stores have anything.  The only stick I found locally was one just like mine at Best Buy.

Saitek all the way. They're expensive, but well worth it. buttons are convientely placed, and they're durable. I specifically use the pro flight yoke system and love it.

I have had a Logictech Extreme 3D Pro for at least six months and have not had a problem with it yet.

That is the one I had, and it lasted just over a year.  Now after reading reviews on it, it seems that is normal.  I did like the stick's functionality, but want one that lasts a little longer.  My old Microsoft Sidewinder lasted for almost 8 years and three different computers.

I have thought about a yoke, but I fly from my couch.  My computer is in my living room, not set up on a desk.  So I need at least a 6 foot cord, and something that can set on my lap.

Microsoft Sidewinder Precision Pro FTW. It's about 15 years old and hasn't broken yet.  ;D

My dear old Microsoft Sidewinder Pro died many years ago (internal electronics).... :'(...!

My present Stick of Joy is my trusty Saitek Cyborg Evo Force, which has got everything I need in a Joystick, and takes up very little room on my desktop... :)...!

I like the; "Aim and Fly" feeling of a Joystick; (like Military Fighter Aircraft)...and the "twist action" Rudder gives me no problems... ;)...!

Had it for over four years now, with no problems.... :-*....!

(Bonus: ...and its got loads of nice blue lights!)... [smiley=thumbsup.gif]...!

Paul...my opinion...and I'm Sticking to it!... ;D...!

I wound up picking this stick, ordered it this morning.  I guess we shall see when it comes in.  I really wanted to buy one I could look at first, but no local stores seem to carry joysticks anymore.

Got the stick.  First impressions...I'll have to get used to the different feel, but I think overall it was a good choice.  This one is completely adjustable, and the buttons are not quite where I'm used to, so it will be a learning experience.  I took it for a couple of test flights, seemed to work ok.  The only problem I have found is with FS9, and the second throttle slider.  It shows up on the properties screen, and FS9 will allow me to program a function to it, however the function doesn't work when I try it.  Any ideas?
